Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 22, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Skogen’s Outdoors website and your purchase of products from Skogen’s Outdoors. By accessing this website, creating an account, submitting an order, or checking the acceptance box at checkout, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the website or place an order. Questions may be directed to sales@skogensoutdoors.com or 406-468-5494.

1. Eligibility and lawful purchasing

You represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and that you meet every applicable federal, state, and local age and eligibility requirement for each product ordered.

For firearms, receivers, ammunition, suppressors, and other regulated products, you further represent that:

  • You are the actual purchaser and are not acquiring the product for a prohibited person or as part of a straw purchase.
  • You are not prohibited by law from purchasing, receiving, possessing, transporting, or using the product.
  • All names, addresses, identification, permits, licenses, and other information or documents you submit are complete, accurate, current, and authentic.
  • You will not export, transfer, resell, possess, or use any product in violation of law.

Skogen’s Outdoors may refuse, hold, modify, or cancel any order when legality, eligibility, identity, payment, documentation, inventory, shipping, or transfer requirements are not satisfied.

2. Federal, state, and local law

You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws and regulations that apply at your residence, shipping destination, transfer location, and any other place where the product will be possessed or used. Restrictions may change without notice and may apply to particular firearms, magazines, ammunition, components, optics, accessories, suppressors, or other products.

Our State Compliance & Restricted Products Policy is incorporated into these Terms. FFL Checkout and other compliance services assist with screening and documentation, but their use does not replace your responsibility to comply with applicable law. Skogen’s Outdoors makes the final decision whether it will accept or fulfill an order.

3. Required permits and compliance documents

Some jurisdictions require a firearm owner identification card, FOID, FID, permit, license, proof of age, identification, exemption, or other documentation before a product may be sold or shipped. You must provide all requested documentation through the secure FFL Checkout process within 10 calendar days after our request unless a different deadline is required by law or stated in your order instructions.

Documents must be legible, unexpired, consistent with the order, and sufficient for the proposed transaction. We may verify submitted information and hold or cancel an order when documentation is missing, expired, inconsistent, unverifiable, or legally insufficient. Do not send sensitive identification or permit documents through ordinary email unless specifically instructed through a secure process.

4. Firearm and serialized-product transfers

Firearms, frames, receivers, and other products requiring a federal firearms license transfer will be shipped only to an appropriately licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (“FFL”), except where another method is expressly permitted by law. The receiving FFL must be willing and legally able to accept the product.

You are responsible for selecting a valid receiving FFL, confirming that dealer’s willingness to perform the transfer, and paying all dealer transfer fees, background-check fees, taxes, storage charges, permit fees, and other local charges. You must present acceptable identification and complete all required forms, background checks, waiting periods, permits, and local procedures. The receiving FFL makes the final decision whether the product may be transferred.

You must inspect the firearm or serialized product at the receiving FFL before accepting the transfer. Confirm the model, caliber or gauge, condition, visible damage, and item-specific details. If the item is incorrect or damaged, do not complete the transfer and contact Skogen’s Outdoors promptly.

Once a firearm or serialized product has been transferred to you, the sale is final and it cannot be returned to Skogen’s Outdoors. After transfer, defects and warranty matters are generally handled through the manufacturer or an authorized service center. Additional instructions are provided in How Firearm Purchases Work and our Shipping, Transfers & Returns Policy.

5. Denied, delayed, refused, and unclaimed transfers

A delayed background check does not automatically cancel an order. If a transfer is denied, the receiving FFL refuses the shipment or transfer, required documentation is not provided, or you are otherwise unable or unwilling to complete the transfer, you remain responsible for applicable dealer fees, return shipping, insurance, and a 15% restocking fee to the extent permitted by law.

A firearm must be collected within 30 calendar days after the receiving FFL notifies you that it is available, unless the FFL requires a shorter period or Skogen’s Outdoors agrees otherwise in writing. An unclaimed item may be returned or treated as abandoned as permitted by law. Refunds, if any, will be reduced by transfer fees, storage charges, return freight, insurance, and the applicable 15% restocking fee.

6. Ammunition, hazardous materials, and restricted products

All ammunition sales are final. Ammunition cannot be returned or exchanged. Primers, powder, hazardous materials, and other products identified as nonreturnable or final sale also cannot be returned. Customers must meet applicable age, identification, carrier, destination, storage, and possession requirements. Adult signature or other delivery controls may be required.

Orders cannot be sent to destinations or by methods prohibited by law or carrier policy. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy and State Compliance & Restricted Products Policy.

7. NFA products and suppressors

Suppressors and other products regulated under the National Firearms Act are subject to additional federal and state requirements, tax payments, identity verification, transfer paperwork, approval, and processing delays. No transfer is guaranteed, and government processing times are outside our control.

NFA orders become final sale once transfer paperwork, registration, or tax-stamp processing has begun, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Customers are responsible for accurate information, timely completion of all required steps, transfer-dealer fees, tax stamps, and any costs caused by denial, abandonment, or failure to complete the transfer. Product possession may occur only after all required approvals have been received.

8. Orders, availability, pricing, and acceptance

An order confirmation acknowledges that we received your order; it does not constitute final acceptance or a promise to fulfill the order. All orders are subject to inventory availability, payment authorization, fraud review, legal and compliance review, shipping restrictions, and final acceptance by Skogen’s Outdoors.

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate descriptions, specifications, prices, images, and availability. We may correct typographical, pricing, inventory, specification, or system errors and may cancel or adjust an affected order before shipment or transfer. If payment has already been captured for a canceled item, the appropriate amount will be refunded.

9. Item-specific firearms, photographs, and condition

For unique, used, collectible, or serial-number-specific firearms, the listing title, SKU or serial reference, written description, stated condition, and item-specific photographs collectively identify the product offered. Normal variations in lighting, screens, finishes, wood grain, wear, and photography may affect appearance. Product descriptions control over generic or representative images.

You must review the complete listing before purchase and inspect the item before accepting transfer. Questions about condition or included accessories should be resolved before ordering or before transfer is completed.

10. Payment, taxes, fraud prevention, and chargebacks

You authorize Skogen’s Outdoors and its payment providers to charge the payment method submitted for the order, applicable taxes, shipping, insurance, and disclosed fees. You are responsible for providing accurate billing information and for all taxes and charges associated with the purchase.

We may use identity, address, payment, fraud-prevention, and compliance verification services. Orders may be held or canceled when information cannot be verified or suspected fraud, unauthorized payment, or unlawful activity is identified. Before initiating a chargeback, contact us so we can attempt to resolve the issue. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may be disputed using order, delivery, acceptance, and compliance records.

11. Shipping, delivery, and risk

Shipping and delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. Weather, carrier delays, compliance review, inventory verification, government processing, and FFL coordination may affect timing. Customers are responsible for providing a complete and lawful shipping address and for promptly correcting address errors before shipment.

Inspect packages promptly and report visible shipping damage, missing contents, or a shipping error within 3 business days of delivery. Preserve the package, labels, packing materials, and photographs needed for a carrier claim. Allocation of title and risk of loss remains subject to applicable law and carrier requirements.

12. Returns, refunds, and cancellations

Eligible general merchandise may be returned within 30 calendar days after delivery when it is new, unused, uninstalled, unmounted, complete, and in its original undamaged packaging. Return authorization is required before sending an item back. Original shipping, transfer charges, special-order costs, and return shipping are not refundable unless the return resulted from our error or applicable law requires otherwise.

The following are final sale and nonreturnable except where required by law:

  • Firearms, frames, receivers, or other serialized products after transfer;
  • Ammunition, primers, powder, hazardous materials, and ammunition components;
  • NFA products after transfer or regulatory processing has begun;
  • Used, fired, installed, mounted, altered, damaged, or incomplete merchandise;
  • Special-order, clearance, closeout, or other items identified as final sale.

An approved cancellation after order processing has begun may incur a 15% cancellation or restocking fee where permitted by law. See our Shipping, Transfers & Returns Policy for cancellation, return, exchange, and refund instructions.

13. Product safety and responsible use

Firearms, ammunition, suppressors, and shooting products are inherently dangerous if handled, stored, installed, maintained, or used improperly. You agree to obtain appropriate training, follow all manufacturer instructions and warnings, use only correct and serviceable ammunition and components, inspect and maintain products appropriately, and secure firearms and ammunition from unauthorized persons and minors.

You assume responsibility for the lawful and safe possession, transport, storage, installation, modification, transfer, and use of products after delivery or transfer. Never rely solely on website information for safety-critical decisions.

14. Warranties and disclaimers

Manufacturer warranties, when available, are provided by the manufacturer under its own terms. Except for any express written commitment made by Skogen’s Outdoors and to the fullest extent permitted by law, products and website content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that a product is suitable for every purchaser, firearm, application, jurisdiction, or intended purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skogen’s Outdoors and its owners, employees, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the website, an order, a delayed or denied transfer, or the possession or use of a product.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability relating to a product or order will not exceed the amount actually paid to Skogen’s Outdoors for the affected product. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

16. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Skogen’s Outdoors and its owners, employees, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your material breach of these Terms, false representations, unlawful purchase or transfer, prohibited export, negligent storage or handling, unauthorized modification, misuse, or violation of applicable law.

17. Third-party services and links

The website may use third-party payment processors, FFL and compliance services, shipping carriers, identity-verification services, manufacturers, and linked websites. Those parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Skogen’s Outdoors is not responsible for a third party’s independent acts, outages, processing times, decisions, or content, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Accounts and prohibited website use

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account. You may not use the website to violate law, impersonate another person, submit false information, interfere with website security, scrape or misuse content, attempt unauthorized access, or facilitate a prohibited transaction.

19. Privacy and electronic communications

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information and compliance-related data are collected, used, retained, and shared. By using the website or placing an order, you consent to receive order, compliance, transfer, and service communications electronically. Marketing communications remain subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements.

20. Intellectual property

The Skogen’s Outdoors name, branding, website design, text, photographs, graphics, and other original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or commercially used without permission, except as permitted by law.

21. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes relating to these Terms, the website, or a purchase will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Montana.

Before filing a claim, the parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter by contacting the other party and allowing a reasonable opportunity for response. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief where legally appropriate.

22. Changes, severability, and entire agreement

We may update these Terms prospectively by publishing a revised version and updating the “Last updated” date. The version accepted when an order is placed will govern that order unless a change is required by law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

These Terms, together with the policies linked above and any product-specific disclosures presented before purchase, constitute the agreement concerning use of the website and purchases from Skogen’s Outdoors.
