State Compliance & Restricted Products

Last updated: August 21, 2026. Skogen’s Outdoors sells and ships regulated products only where lawful. This page explains our checkout documentation and state-compliance process. It is a store policy, not legal advice.

Firearms and FFL transfers

• Firearms are shipped only to a valid Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) selected during checkout.
• Firearms are not shipped directly to a customer’s residence or to a P.O. box.
• The receiving dealer completes the required transfer, identification, background-check and waiting-period procedures.
• The receiving dealer may decline a transfer. Any transfer fee charged by that dealer is the customer’s responsibility.

Customer documents requested at checkout

FFL Checkout may request a clear, current copy of a state credential when the shipping address and cart contents require it. The customer name, shipping address and identification must match the order. Upload documents only through the secure checkout prompt; please do not email identification documents unless we specifically provide a secure method.

Uploading a document does not guarantee approval or shipment. We may request additional documentation or cancel an order if the product, customer, destination or receiving dealer does not satisfy applicable requirements.

Ammunition

• Ammunition is sold only to customers who meet the minimum age and legal eligibility requirements for the product.
• Orders shipping to California, New York, the District of Columbia or Massachusetts currently require an eligible dealer or FFL destination through checkout.
• Adult signature, carrier restrictions or additional identification may apply.
• We do not ship ammunition to P.O. boxes.

Restricted products

Restrictions may depend on the exact firearm configuration, magazine capacity, ammunition type, component, accessory, customer status and local jurisdiction. A product appearing on the website does not mean it can lawfully be delivered to every location.

• California orders are currently unavailable while our California product and shipping rules are being finalized.
• Magazines, receivers, frames, suppressor-related products, regulated components and other controlled items are reviewed by product and destination.
• Local ordinances may be stricter than state law and may require manual review.
• We may place an order on hold, request documentation, remove an item, or cancel and refund an order that cannot lawfully be fulfilled.

Customer responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate information, select a willing receiving FFL when required, confirm that the item is legal in their location, and respond promptly to document requests. Do not order a regulated product for someone who is prohibited or as an unlawful proxy purchase.

Document privacy

Uploaded credentials are used to review and document order compliance. Access is limited to authorized store administrators. We retain records only as needed for order processing, required recordkeeping, dispute prevention and legal obligations. Sensitive documents should not be sent through ordinary email.
